A chronology of our experience with the Gardyn Home 4 hydroponic indoor garden system
Setup was relatively simple. I initially followed the video guide, but eventually it was easier to using only the booklet. Packaging was simple and well thought out. There are only 3 initial sets of 30 plants to chose from. We chose the Salad Lovers set although the plan was to replace with plants we'll eat as soon as possible. In hindsight, I should have created an account and could have ordered our first month's plants to arrive before initial setup. Instead, we ordered on Day 1.
Received our first monthly shipment of new plants: more Romaine, Iceberg, Mini Broccoli, Celery, and Green Beans. Swapped all except the Green Beans for others from the Salad Lovers set. Green Beans require some prep that we're not ready for. Very pleased on how fast the order arrived.
Nothing we ever planted showed activity after 5 days! Almost all of our 30 plants (with the exception of the new ones added yesterday) have sprouted. Very exciting.
Something we did not know, once most plants sprout, it is helpful to "thin" down to 1 or 3 sprouts (depending on the type of plant). The AI Gardener instructed us to thin our sprouts today. Our first "manual" task.
